The robotic camp or cybernetic summer workshop Campo Arduino will be again held at the Department of Cybernetics of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň (Pilsen), Czech Republic during summer holidays in the second half of August. The goal can be most easily explained by the paraphrase of the most famous czech educator John Amos Comenius „Cybernetics by play“ (originally „School by Play“). During the workshop, participants will „play“ with simple robots based on the Arduino paltform.
The primary target group are students of a secondary school or higher classes of a primary school (ages 11-19). However participation is open to anyone, parents or grandparents of children can join them, fans of this technology can take part with their own parts and for example get help to build their own robots. We believe that we are able to convince participant that cybernetics can be fun. The working language of the workshop is Czech, since it is targeted for children and youth from the city and suburbs, but we are all used to participate on international conferences and in fact foreign (english-speaking) participants are not excluded.
